Hey there, I’m Blu — the eye behind Blu Photography.

I’m a portrait, branding, and landscape photographer based in beautiful Colorado Springs. I shoot out of a cozy little studio downtown, but I’m just as happy capturing you in your home or out on location — wherever you feel most like you.

My sessions aren’t stiff or formal. Expect to hear a few terrible dad jokes (it’s part of the magic), and don’t worry about your smile — the real one will show up when you least expect it. I’m all about creating a relaxed, go-with-the-flow experience so your natural moments can shine through. Whether it’s a headshot, a family portrait, or a quiet mountain scene, I want the image to feel like you — unfiltered and real.

Photography has always been a part of my life, but it took on a new meaning when I became a dad. I started with the goal of capturing my kids’ lives, one moment at a time. When my son fell in love with photography too, it became something we shared — shooting side by side, learning and laughing. After losing him, photography became a way I continue to honor his memory and our passion for the art. Every session is a reminder of the joy that connection brings.

Before Blu Photography, I spent 20 years in the Air Force, traveling to 37 countries and meeting incredible people along the way. That’s actually where “Blu” comes from — a nickname that stuck (yes, I’ve heard all the Blue’s Clues and “You’re my boy, Blu!” jokes).
